25 years of Solidarnosc
Republic of Poland
Location : Gransk, Poland
Ambition
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Solidarnösc trade union
Mission
Our mission was to design and produce a unifying event for a movement that was a precursor to the implosion of the communist bloc.
Strategy
Founded in the middle of the Cold War by a simple electrician named Lech Walesa in the shipyards of Gdansk, the dissident union Solidarnosc (Solidarity) celebrated its 25th anniversary. In the very place where Lech Walesa, the former trade union leader who became a Nobel Prize winner, held his speeches, we designed and produced an event concert by Jean Michel Jarre in front of nearly 250,000 people. More than one celebration among others, this event was an opportunity for the Poles and the whole world to celebrate their history.
